This Policy forms part of our Terms of Use. Terms not defined here are defined in the Terms of Use.
If you are under 13 years of age, you should not use our Services. If we become aware that an individual under 13 may have provided us with personal information, we will investigate and, if applicable, delete the data and the account. Personal Information We Collect
We collect personal information directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, and from third parties.
Information We Collect Directly from You
- Profile information. Your general location (country), gender, and date of birth.
- Food and activity data. Information you choose to share about your dietary habits and activity, including: meals, drinks and supplements you log (including via photo or voice logging); calorie and macro estimates; dietary restrictions and preferences; fitness level, activity and goals; body measurements (height, weight, target weight); information related to physiological conditions; and meal photos you choose to provide for analysis. Food and activity data may include sensitive personal information where it indicates or allows someone to infer a health condition. When you choose to log a meal using the AI feature, the specific meal photos or text descriptions you provide within the app are collected and sent to our third-party AI provider (Google) exclusively for the purpose of analyzing the meal and estimating nutritional values.
- Communications with Drizzle. Your email address, name, and any other content you provide when contacting us, including support conversations.
- Research and survey information. Contact details, feedback, and other information you provide if you take part in research or surveys.
- Preferences and requests. Communication preferences, in-app preferences, and any other requests you send us.
Information We Collect Automatically
We may collect usage and device data, such as details about your operating system or mobile device (including unique device identifiers generated by our app), general location inferred from your IP address, actions you take in the Services, and the frequency and duration of your activity. When you use our website, we also collect details about your browser and cookie identifiers through cookies and similar tracking technologies as described below.
We collect some of this information through cookies and similar tracking technologies (“Cookies”). We use Cookies to make the Services work, ensure security and prevent fraud (required), to provide enhanced functionality and analyze usage (functional), and, where permitted, to personalize content and advertising (advertising).

- AI and nutrition data providers. Providers that help estimate nutrition information from your meal photos and descriptions, and nutrition databases used to build recipes and estimates.
- Marketing and advertising partners. Information about your interests, demographics, and the ads you have seen or clicked.
Aggregated, De-identified, or Anonymized Information
We may aggregate, de-identify, or anonymize information so that it is no longer considered personal information under applicable law. We may use and disclose such information for purposes consistent with this Policy or as otherwise permitted by law.
How We Use Personal Information
- Provide our Services. To create and manage your account, generate nutrition estimates and recipe suggestions, provide support, and run day-to-day operations.
- Personalize your experience. To tailor goals, meal plans, reminders, and recommendations to your preferences and progress.
- Communicate with you. To respond to questions and requests and to send administrative messages, such as changes to our terms and policies.
- Respond to privacy requests. To verify and fulfil requests to exercise your rights over your personal information.
- Marketing. To send newsletters and promotional messages about new features and offers, where permitted or with your consent.
- Advertising and measurement. Where permitted, we and our partners may use tracking technologies to deliver and measure advertising, including on third-party services and across devices you use.
- Analytics and research. To understand how the Services are used, measure performance, run surveys, and improve accuracy and reliability.
- Improve our models and features. To improve nutrition estimation quality and test new features, using de-identified or aggregated data where practicable.
- Security and protection of rights. To monitor and maintain the security of the Services and to prevent, detect, and respond to fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access.
- Legal obligations. To comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Business transactions. To evaluate, negotiate, or complete a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We disclose personal information to the categories of recipients described below:
- Service providers. Companies that provide hosting, storage, analytics, customer support, and professional services on our behalf. This includes Google (Google Cloud / Gemini), which receives the meal photos or text descriptions you submit through the AI logging feature solely to analyze the meal and estimate nutritional values on our behalf.
- Marketing, advertising, and analytics partners. Partners that help us serve, measure, and optimize campaigns and understand usage of the Services.
- Research partners. Partners performing surveys or research projects with us or on our behalf.
- Business transactions. Counterparties, lenders, auditors, and advisors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, insolvency, or sale of assets.
- Law enforcement and regulators. Where required by applicable law or in response to legally valid requests.
- Other parties. At your direction or with your consent, or as necessary to protect the Services, our rights and property, or the rights, privacy, or safety of others.
We confirm that any third-party AI service provider (such as Google) that we share your data with provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this Privacy Policy, and they are not permitted to use your personal data for their own independent purposes.
We do not sell your health or nutrition data.
Managing Your Preferences
Marketing communications
We may send periodic marketing emails, and we will obtain your consent where required by law. To stop receiving them you can change your email preferences in your account settings or use the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing message.
Cookie preferences
You can accept or reject cookies through your browser settings. Preferences are set per browser and per device, so you may need to repeat your choices on each browser and device you use.
Mobile device permissions
You can control access to your camera, photos, notifications, and health data in your device settings at any time. Turning off a permission may disable related features such as photo meal logging.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct inaccurate information, to request deletion, to request a portable copy, to opt out of certain processing (including targeted advertising), and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise a right, contact us at support@drizzlenutrition.app. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes such as legal compliance, dispute resolution, security, and enforcement of our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your associated data within a commercially reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
International Data Transfers
We may transfer, store, and process personal information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses for these transfers.

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, Drizzle Nutrition is the controller of your personal information. We rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Services); your consent (for health-related data, marketing, and certain cookies); our legitimate interests (to secure, improve, and promote the Services); and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
United States — state privacy laws
Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have the rights described in “Your Privacy Rights,” including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell health or nutrition data. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice or request your consent.
